We opened our doors March 23, 2024. A beautiful space dedicated to showcasing the beauty and diversity of contemporary art. The Gallery is open from Tuesday to Saturday to welcome anyone who loves art. The gallery exhibits mostly BAGIRA's work, but few times during the year we host 2-week solo exhibitions. hidden gem in Otrobanda
The gallery is located in the heart of Otrobanda, Curacao, specifically in Kura Hulanda Village part of the UNESCO world heritage. We are open mainly in the afternoon through the evening, take a stroll in the Village, have drinks, a nice dinner and come by to admire the artworks and get inspired. recent solo expo of ISABEL BERENOS
succesful 2-week solo expo of ISABEL BERENOS at the gallery. Isabel is the first artist having an exhibition at the gallery since the opening. We have welcomed around 300 guests on the opening night. The gallery was transformed completely into Isabel's world of abstract art reflecting movement and passion.LEARNING ABOUT RHYTHM, CHOREOGRAPHY, COMPOSITION AND THE HUMAN BODY AS AN INSTRUMENT, PROPELLED ISABEL INTO FINDING HER PERSONAL ARTISTIC SIGNATURE IN HER CURRENT ART PRACTICE: PAINTING. WITH AN EXTENSIVE BACKGROUND IN MODERN DANCE, JAZZ AND BALLET, THE AESTHETIC FOR HER CURRENT WORK BEGAN TO FORM ITSELF IN THE SUBCONSCIOUS FROM AN EARLY AGE. SINCE SHE MOVED BACK TO CURAÇAO SEVEN YEARS AGO. ISABEL PAINTS FROM HER STUDIO IN JONGBLOED WITH ACRYLIC PAINT, INK, PASTEL, CHARCOAL AND SPRAY. SURFACES RANGE FROM CANVAS, WOOD AND PAPER. SHE WAS BORN ON CURAÇAO AND HAD A PROFESSIONAL CAREER IN THE PERFORMANCE ARTS, WITH BALLET AS A MAJOR. SHE LIVED IN AMSTERDAM BUT SHE ALWAYS KNEW THAT AT AROUND THE AGE OF 30, SHE WOULD WANT TO MOVE BACK TO THE PLACE SHE WAS BORN TO START ROOTING AND LIVE THE 'ISLANd life.
