My portraits aren’t replicas of real people, they are reflections anyone can recognize , in themselves, someone they love, someone they admire, or someone they aspire to become.
What drives me is connection , that silent moment when a viewer feels seen, understood, without a single word spoken. My work is shaped by the countries I’ve lived in, the lives I’ve witnessed, the cultures that have become part of me, and by Curaçao, a blend of cultures and stories that I now proudly call home. It’s here that the artist in me was born, nourished by the island’s spirit of resilience, beauty, and unity and the support of its people.
Through my art, I aim to inspire and empower people, to honor humanity, bridge cultures and remind us of the beauty and power that live inside us all.’

I knew I disliked red long before I thought to ask why.
Perhaps I had borrowed that feeling from my mother, along with memories and associations that I’ve had through life. It makes me wonder how much we absorb from someone we love without ever questioning it.
Now, as an artist, I’m drawn to how daring red can be. I let it take up space. There’s something freeing about giving it a meaning of my own.
What else have I called “my taste” that was never really mine to begin with?

Being surrounded by nature has always been one of the ways I recharge. The sound of leaves moving in the wind, the warmth, the green all around me.
It quiets everything for a moment. Sometimes I just need to be a little far from everything, even if only for a while, in this case it could even be in the garden. This piece reflects that feeling.

Meaning beauty in Arabic. There’s something about her that pulls you in, yet she remains distant. Her eyes are somewhere else, as if her mind has already wandered far beyond you.
A strong gaze you can look into, but never quite reach. Just like the women from my country. A culture where women got to be strong for so many different reasons and learned to speak with their eyes.

An Amazigh name meaning “turtledove,” a symbol of love, tenderness and peace. Her silver jewelry draws from traditional Amazigh adornment, where silver has long been part of cultural expression, identity and heritage. Worn boldly against her white clothing and dark hair, it connects her softness and femininity to the generations and culture that came before her.
